Familia Eguren Ugarte

Seis generaciones de agricultores del vino. Esta tradición familiar es la que impulsa la Bodega Eguren Ugarte en Laguardia, el corazón de Rioja Alavesa.

A los pies de Sierra Cantabria y rodeada de 130 hectáreas de viñedo, la bodega responde a una filosofía que siempre tuvo muy clara su fundador, Vitorino Eguren. Se trata de un espíritu de acogida y atención al visitante que resume siglos del modo de ser del labrador de Rioja Alavesa.

Un lugar dónde conocer y disfrutar la experiencia del vino, rememorar historias recorriendo sus 2.000 metros de cuevas.

Viñedo

130 hectáreas de viñedo propio en los que cultivan y controlan la producción de sus uvas de manera tradicional en armonía con las técnicas vitícolas más recientes.

La uva para la elaboración de sus vinos, proviene de viñedos de los suelos arcillocalcáreos de Labastida, Páganos, Leza y Elciego, en pleno corazón de la Rioja Alavesa. Se busca una orientación norte-sur y se conducen en espalderas altas, procurando así una mayor exposición al sol.

Al no regar los viñedos, éstos dependen completamente de las condiciones climatológicas.

Realizan la vendimia de forma manual y mecánica, para que la uva llegue a la bodega en su momento óptimo.

Bodega

4.000 barricas dispuestas en varias Salas o 2.000 metros de cuevas excavadas en la roca. Una Bodega enterrada en la tierra y que impulsó Vitorino, la quinta generación de la Familia Eguren. En 1.989 decidió construir esta Bodega en la finca más grande que tenía la familia, Sotovin, en Páganos. Una casa siempre abierta al visitante donde será acogido como en su casa.
