Sumarroca

Un gran equipo de profesionales detrás de una familia innovadora, que ha unido la pasión por la tierra y la tenacidad para cultivarla, la tradición y la voluntad innovadora, el sentimiento y la razón.

En Sumarroca se trabaja para hacer realidad la filosofía de su creador: mejorar la calidad de la producción para obtener vinos y cavas innovadores, con carácter y equilibrio.

Los orígenes de la vocación viticultora de las bodegas se sitúan en la población de Llimiana, en el Pallars Jussà. Allí es donde varias generaciones de la familia Sumarroca se dedicaron al cultivo de la viña y actualmente lo siguen haciendo en la comarca del Penedés.

A principios de la década de los 80, esta bodega familiar se traslada al Penedés, donde adquiere las fincas de Molí Coloma, de 36 ha, en Subirats, y Heretat Sabartés, con 25 ha, en Banyeres del Penedès.

Las instalaciones de producción se sitúan, en 1983, en el propio Mas Molí Coloma, donde enseguida se empiezan a elaborar cava y vinos blancos.

En 1999 se compra la antigua propiedad del Marqués de Monistrol, que pasa a denominarse Finca Sumarroca. Posee 403,8 ha y es la finca más extensa de toda la comarca del Penedés.

Viñedo

Sumarroca cuenta con 464,8 ha, que permiten proveer a las bodegas el 100% de las uvas que necesitan para la elaboración de vinos y cavas. De esta manera, las bodegas consiguen controlar toda la cadena de producción, desde el cultivo y la vendimia hasta la fermentación, la cupada, el filtrado y el embotellado. En cada etapa se aplican los criterios más adecuados para una mejora continua de la calidad.
